The Debauchery of Mr. Brown

2. some information on "reaction formation" is presented: we can become like the pendulum, and steer so far away from the behaviors of debaucher, that we become priggish, moralists, and sexually repressed. This article address how to not develop a life that is only in reaction to, or opposite of The Gaslighter. Don't be them, but be balanced.

Why do we have innate dislikes of Brown?  I remember seeing so many Dutch and Brazilian paintings with brown and mustard tones. It just never appealed to me.

The Debauchery of Mr. Brown

Brown in the art, is a mood maker for fantasy art and games. Note the grotesque features. 

FYI: when I see jewelry or cut jasper and agate I've imported to have spots or blotches of gray or BROWN, I see trouble. Unlike so many colors that can be worked with by some lightening, darkening, or covering it up somehow, Gray and Brown just don't go away.  It means, a cut stone I bought was a reject. You just can't get rid of brown stuff in your crafts and art. It's big trouble. In jewelry, it means you better toss it. For other crafts, it means putting a permanent cover paint over it. Many times, I've tried to remove brown. It's not just a color, like an Easter egg dye or Koolaid you can put some bleach or Oxyclean on: it's several deep minerals. And, Brown is the biggest trouble for crafts: it's has a place with wood items, but you'll never find a person seeking:

• a brown ring
• a brown wall handing
• brown beads
• dark brown clothing without something of color contrasting with it
• brown shoes with no shine or style to add to the color

Unfortunately, we come across brown lots. So, what about browns? You might find that brown pipe that you can turn into a red copper with a burnish or the glue on rust powders. Or, you might turn that found brown bird house into something bright with yellow polka dots..... But, brown is not the end RESULT. 

As a crafter and rockhounder, I've read much over the years on the origins of colors used in dyes and importantly: historical paintings.

Color agents weren't easy to find. We just can't imagine these days the difficulty of finding some paint for home or craft that has a pure white, a blue, a purple, or a red. But, just over 150 years ago, and throughout ancient history, that was the case: coloring agents were not common:
explorers scoured the world not just for spices and riches, but for Colors to be used in art.

If you were to study the tiled mosaics of ancient Pompeii or color agents used in colored glass, paintings, clothing or tapestry dies, you might find they came from minerals found in:

1. world mines from Africa 
2. surface collection of stones, sand, pebbles and rocks, including those from river beds
3. unusual sea shells that contained deep mineral colors that would not fade like organic dyes (from plants because the dye did not have a mineral as the origin, and would only last a few years, such as those from flowers, trees, leaves, etc.).  The mollusk that produced royal purple was able to extract minerals from the water, including it's shell of calcium, to create that lasting color.

What is common in these rare and hard to find colors was that the color came from a Mineral. Mines were developed to exclusively harvest colored minerals for crushing, and dyes also came from colored stones or sand on the surface. These were crushed for the color agent, including the crushing of valuable gemstones just to get the color.

So, when you see that colored glass of:

• blown glass
• recycled glass beads
• stained glass that has deep and not surface painting colors
• a painting
• paint
• a ceramic mug

Think MINERALS

Why do we have innate dislikes of Brown?

1. One reason for this is that other colors that were brighter, were harder to come by, including:

• pure white
• purples
• yellows
• neon colors
• bright and even luminescent color types (an ingredient, also harvested, is added for some reflection wither that be reflection of ocean shells or mica / pyrite). 

2. Dark Colors also were overly used in art to portray:
power
sin
shadow and darkness
mood, such as the very serious Dutch Painters with portraits or ship yard scenes

It was overdone, the mood bent, and artists also used the cheaper brown and ochre paints.

It was the acceptable trend.

You may note that in regions of the world where these minerals were not rare, that you'll see white, yellow or other colors being used. These are mineral rich areas of the world, where today, many valuable minerals or precious stones are still extracted which were once the source of color pigments.

And, just the opposite of this has occurred in many other parts of the world: in most tropical rain forests, where the soil and minerals are monotone: you may see art with typical rain forest soil red used, but when other dyes and pigments were used that were organic: they did not last in history as the mineral colors do.

3. I think there's also ancient human thoughts about brown that create revulsion on a subconscious level, as brown could be associated with:

• decay, perhaps even death: watch out
• rust: a clue that something is weakening or could cause you trouble in repair later: watch out

So complex a mixture is umber’s identity of the inner and outer worlds, its very name (originally in Italian ‘terra d’ombra’, or ‘earth of shadows’) is pulled in two directions. In mythology, Satyrs, Fauns, and Pan are associated with the color brown.  The brown creatures also included the Fauns, breaker's of rules. The images of of a human with gross animal parts is called "hideous" imagery.  Tricksters and rule breakers of the night and interstitial times of dawn and dusk, the Satyr is portrayed with a regressed teen or obsessed sexuality life: there is a constant erection and portrayals of sexual entitlement and seduction of any and all.

Mr. Brown, truly is a debaucherous color!  This brings us back to out history above, the Dutch and other painters. Why was brown chosen for dark mood, sin, and debauchery? A history of other art, like this below, well preceded that:

When you see a Mr. Brown in the world, a sexually entitled person: think of Donald Trump and the plethora of sexual liaisons...... and do let that disgust you!

As a trickster, brown and Satyr's let out sexuality and darkness out of our basements of repression. But, when the Satyr, painting, or Presidency is overtaken by Brown: turn away to color:

Why present the following profane images of Satyr's?


1. Western society denies male and female genitalia in it's own art.  Children are raised with human genitals as being objects with a nature separate from the rest of the body: evil in nature

2. To ignore something, is to hide it. Things hidden then become stumbling blocks: When there is a Debaucherous Mr. Brown around, one is not mentally prepared for that sexual thief.. 

Today, women are in a very naive position: examples of Debaucherous Mr. Brown in art and history can be found in European Museums, but not in the US. They are taught a life is gilded and others are altruistic. Then you hit the wall with encounters with the Dark Disordered.

3. In our own repression of all of Mr. Brown, we also lose human aspects of sexuality and passion. The baby is thrown out with the bath water!  Oddly, in examining Mr. Brown, we find two things:
a. the nature of 20% of the population to lie and take 

b. our lost selves: when some rejected aspect of our personality is found, it can be brought foreward to "use", but it doesn't overtake us and we don't become Mr. Brown. 

4. Artists and crafters are fearless: they explore without evaluation world and historical art and cultures different from their own.

Now, this above is a statement of Satyr, when an archetype takes over one's soul. But, what happens when you throw the inner Satyr or Pan into some mental basement prison?

What happens with you ignore or imprison the shades of Brown?

You lose:

• mood
• darkness
• ancient colors
• the contributions of the Dutch painters
• wood tones and grains in art and jewelry (and, I LOVE wood in jewelry, even rings)
• brown toned stones and jewels (many brownish precious stones are the rarest and most valuable: think of brownish rubies or garnet: a red with a hint of brown)

And, it you ignore brown, and don't become a studier of it: you lose the awareness of it's good and bad presences in arts, and you forgo the craft of working with it.


It seems with Mr. Brown, extremes are a risk:

You become a sexually entitled and using Donald Trump, or risk going to the other extreme: being a priggish avoider of the inner Pan, the holder, as a friend Greg says, the holder and doorway to : passion, sexuality, drive, and color.

TIP: buy a brown desk of quality wood, buy a pendant with a backing that is wood that shows off that opal stone, buy shelf paper that fakes quality wood, buy a phone case that looks like wood, 

 but:

don't buy a brown car that looks so classy: you'll never resell it, goes the rule for used cars

cronies profer alt stories to beffucle the matter: it was another guy
republican voters say, as they've said for Trump: "Boys will be boys".
Donald Jr. chimes in, as he also supports the Debaucherous Mr. Browns in sexual taking: he's a minion of sexual takers as he is junior one now

The Mythology of Young Dr. Frankenstein: the psychopath in 10 easy points

I have a person to thank for two things. A buddy, Blair, pushed me 30 years ago to ownership of my first dog, himself being a champion in Dog Field Trials. Since then, my life has been filled with dogs and cats. I've learned from pets the shortness of life as they live out their 12 to 14 years. And, I've learned how change occurs in a slow way and takes monumental effort on the pet owner: feral cat Frank has just completed his first month of not biting, being kind to 2 other cats, and genuine cuddling up with me right now on this sofa on this chilly day! I never thought it could happen. It was not a moving to some wonderful tricks, it was just moving to kindness, and that took incredible patience and one water spray bottle. Never, as I learned, with many Cocker Spaniels, do they learn truly from any punishment: Cockers get you you back by just peeing on the carpet, and cats get you back a few hours or day later. But, it takes super human commitment to spending time with them. It's the same with children: for every correction you make, there must be 9 of 10 interventions a loving and encouraging one. All pets have responded to the strongest of encouragements: stopping and talking to them. And, I've learned with them, even with a busy life: Love can be gauged with the quality of time spent. When spending time with them if they're interacting, the bills or laptop goes to the side. Do you do this with those you love? I hope so.  Remember, quality time with no distractions equals Love. Distracted time where you are doing something else is equal to no time.

Blair turned me on to some dark cinema of many types. Years ago, I'd avoid something bloody, dark, gothic, or alt in cinema. Still, when I know an incredible bloody scene in a movie is coming up, I'll cover my eyes if it seems real. But, most times, I see the blood as either a Hollywood goo, or a "metaphor", symbolic of something. And, because of what myth in movies has to share with us, this gore is part of the telling of human mythic stories we need to know and be familiar with. These mythic stories tell of journeys of humans, in fact, most humans. They include quests, tests of skill, and dangers. Many dark mythic stories have tales of warning. "Our mythic stories we need to know are hidden in the West's Movies", Joseph Campbell, great mythologist.

Now, there are twists and remakes of stories. Many fairy tales and old historical tales of monsters, demons, and quests have many version. Interestingly, these tales though retold, are present in all cultures of all times in the world, though they are very very hidden in modern Western Culture......veiled in movies, video games, and the fewer books being read.

One type of remake sets itself apart from the various versions of Little Red Riding Hood or Rapunzel, stories of our own inner soul. And, one type is a variance from the darkness found in the gothic story, the Grimm tale, the bloodied search for the Holy Grail, or Homer's Harsh Quest. And, this remake again sets itself apart from those movies I study for the human theme and lesson or warning in life:

• horror movies
• zombie 
• Apocalypse movies

like

• 2012, a story of world disaster from warming of the oceans
• World War Z: a story of global disease, and though the disease reanimates the dead, the disease seems a possibility in our global travel times
• The Wall: dark enemies attack the China Wall, forcing an alliance of a Western Hero and the Chinese arts of fighting and explosives
• Zombie Apocalypse: there are those undead who are out to eat you, a metaphor of the undead takers around you and even the psychopaths described in this blog.....brains....flesh.....you.

These dark movies are called the "mythological warnings"
don't go there it's dangerous, or be fully prepared
be aware things could change fast, look out for harm
and, most thematic of all: there are people who will take, rip off, use, kill, you just like any Vampire movie or TV show, by way of conning.......if you don't know cons, what critical thinking is, and what propaganda is: you'll be eaten like any person in the South Promised a Job by Donald Trump, and now you're starving!!!

Be Warned!

So, what is this anti-remake or version of the mythic warning of the undead, the dark, and dangers? What can be counter to that mythic taker of mythologies worldwide?  What can be some variance from:

• the witch
• the eating zombie undead
• undead of all sorts
• conning shapeshifters of Vampires and Werewolf mythology
• giant one eyed monsters and tiny seemingly innocuous sprites, dwarfs, peskies, pixies, Pans that debauch you, and even the Tooth Fairy that unbeknownst to modern parents is a pixie creature that eats your teeth at night
• evil clowns, the undead with the red noses (the red nose representing the frostbitten and rotting face of that Northern freezing-you creature)
• Bogey Me, creatures of the dark and unknown places
• and so on

(Fill in this list with your favorite dark characters, villains, and even alt gothic creatures you may avoid thinking about or avoid a movie that includes, and you have a list of pan-cultural world warning MYTHS, perhaps the worst of all being the conning glamoring fooling hypnotizing types that are right in your midst: the vampire next door or in public office!

This variation, then is the Parody. It is a twist on the Mythic Villain. For some, it may lessen the import of the story. For others, it's a fun way to learn about them.  And, fun is good!  Children often make up stories or songs about the villains, and this is for them an intro to learning about danger when other dark images might be too frightening for the emergent minds and brains.

Parody is also a way to "not fight the villain with the villain's fire".  That is, if you try to use the witch's methods, or Donald Trump's methods that are dark. you WIll be eventually caught by them.
Parody offers a taunt or poke from you to the villain. It employs an opposite way to confront.

One such movie is Mel Brooks' "Young Doctor Frankenstein. In this movie is a clear presentation of the psychopath in a humorous approach. The humorous approach is to make the characteristic of the villain extreme. That is, we turn up the volume on a characteristic by 20 or 100%, just like the story of confronting the Bogart in the Harry Potter Movies: face what is fearful like your school teacher, then put a Tutu on Her in your mind.

It may seem like it serves the greater good: don't be fooled

3. is manic like in that intent. Has brilliance in many areas of life. Let's nothing get in way. Psychopaths have been creators of great war victories and genocides, taking riches, slaves, and land. Manic like means: a brilliant idea that has gone off into left field, is now bizarre, and is driven with endless energy and mind resources

4. We sometimes pick up that there is an Evil Intent of all of it, unless the psychopath is also a master at Propaganda, White Washing the Truth, Alliance Building, and the Con

5.  Has no compassion for the humanity or humans around, but has an intent of creating Slaves. Here' the reanimation of the dead corpse is very metaphoric: their aids, servants, and slaves may have been murdered emotionally by the Dr., then reanimated. And, a corpse to experiment on is more valuable than a real person. "I'll make a child in my own image and create a double that keeps my legacy going on" is the bizarre story. Most psychopaths have rejected their own children for the selection of an oddball progenitor, and this has often been the  basis in history for children killing or imprisoning their own crazy father: kill or be killed by Dad, imprison or get no inheritance.

6.  HE Has:

• submissive helpers who worship and ego stroke Dr. Frankenstein
• door keepers that keep people out using some method of intimidation, threat, or humiliation

7. people are just products, resources, and often disposable: corpses to be used, brains to be pickled for future uses

8.  There may be a "Mrs. Young Frankenstein" in the wings, hidden. Her biggest failing is likely she's not THE BLOND. She is kept, but kept hidden.

9. Blonds are admired at all times. Some, are paid for their services, whether as worshipful servants or "MALE's PAID COMPANIONS". Never would "MALE PAID COMPANIONS" known to the psychopath be called a street name: hooker, call girl, or prostitute. These paid Blonds come and go, as the psychopaths needs new stimulation every few weeks!
