There is a feeling that can't be greatly described. Sure, there is sadness, joy, despair, and all the other colors and moods of life.
But, crazy, feeling crazy is certainly an anomaly.
Gaslighters like to call others crazy. Why? Because it takes the vulnerable into that strange netherworld notion of AM I CRAZY. "Am I crazy" heads after a few minutes, times, or days into really feeling Crazy.
Who then are the vulnerable? About 80% of the population have senses of self-checking, consciousness of themselves and surroundings, the feelings of others, and compassion and sympathy for:
20% do not have this compassion, empathy, and concern.
It may be hard to accept this, because they say they do.
Let's break this down a bit further, that 20% into two groups of 10% that do not have that function of compassion, empathy, and sympathy for others, but have a narrow focus of self-serving. This, though, is not the Self Compassion of point #1 above. This is self-serving, and ego greed. This is the seeking of goods, wealth, and luxuries at the very risk of other's welfare. Why is this different in the 80% and the 20%? Here's why:
Greed and self serving, with it's schemes and plans is that regressed childhood ego effort, that comes from one region of the brain. It's a function of a section of the brain, and is also part of the personality.
Compassion is in another part of the brain.
In the 20%,

Group A: half of those with no sense of compassion are the "brain wounded" primarily from the trauma of Post Stress Trauma Disorder, and other disorders that shut this section of the brain down and allow the anger portion of the brain to take over. War veterans, abuse and rape victims, and trauma victims of all types are in this category. Those suffering from continual poverty, crime, neglect, and even ongoing political corruption as in many countries may fit in here. This disorder of the brain and personality is treatable, though most who have it don't see a need or don't pursue help.
If you have a person who appears to be from this Group A, and they actively seek some help, amelioration, or treatment, of change, possibly they were an extremely mild Group A person, or were really a part of the wounded of the 80% of those with compassion and awareness, but just look worse than they appeared.
Many war veterans who have acted out in gun violence, severe spousal abuse, and manic acts are these PTSD victims, and most have a denial of their problem because they area of the brain that gives you awareness of yourself is broken....or possibly gone for the rest of your life. Many alcoholic parents, both moms and dads, fit this group and have both the brain damage of loss of compassion and then severely abuse or neglect children. Many abused or neglected or abused as children fit this category, and as adults have a lost "compassion" function.

These are the 10% of our population in your neighborhood and the world that are dangerous Narcissists and Psychopaths. They are mini Hannibal Lecters, with no compassion,

This is the scam, the con, the daily ruse.
These persons are missing the full compassion brain function, and are ruled by the greed and anger parts of the brain and personality.

1. a new report states that 16,000 Catholic Priests have sexually abused children since World War 11, and reporting has been done only for a few select countries, including North Amercia, Peru, and a few European countries. Reporting has just started in the Philippines where 1,000 priests have been identified as sexual abusers. These abusers each have sexually abuses up to 100 children each. Will an estimate of all Catholic Priest abuses include over 100,000 priests, and millions of abused children? That is likely.
Most countries do not have the full resources or current motivation due to other national crises to pursue investigations. Some, like Brazil, are caught up with economic and crimes of murder floods:

How could this occur? Priest Pedophiles are part of
a. the largest group of 10% uncompassionate and greed self-seeking Psychopaths
b. the Catholic Church created a safe haven for this "world's largest group of psychopaths" by moving to priest celibacy: no marriage and no sex made the "club house". The church has a long history of periods of marriage, celibacy, versus allowing sex and marriage.
c. these are not gays, these are sexual predators of both boys and girls. Pedophilia is a sign of mental Psychopathy: lack of compassion, and greed taking
How can the Catholic Church close this club?
This will not stop the club from "meeting secretly" and continuing:
rules
laws
investigation and punishment (which must be done, but will not stop completely or solve the deepest issue)
congresses and conferences of the Church
declarations, credos
training, interventions
safety of children regulations (though that too must be done)
"repair centers for pedophiles": science has proven there is no repair for these psychopaths in their life: once released they abuse a child within hours. These repair centers become secondary clubhouses.
The solution is:
1. the church must allow priest marriage
2. the church must investigate why Catholics have so much "clandestine sex" of all types, and seek a solution that is more healthy and less "rules and sin oriented". A new workable health view of sex and sexuality everybody gets permission now to "mess around". But, how can it be that Italians and Brazilian Catholics, two of the most important Catholic Countries, have double standards toward sex:

3. pedophiles are no percentage wise % more greatly gays, but the entire club of all persons must be closed, and that means allowing and recognizing gay marriage. The whole "club house" of psychopathic pedophiles needs closed.
4. all need made aware of what psychopathy is

- pets of all types from guppies to pet ponies and donkeys
- Mother Nature: as in the movie Avatar, we see, have concern for, and see our role in protecting nature, the oceans, the animals going extinct, and the bacteria and fungus of the Rain Forest, and those 15 world bird species that went extinct listed this last week, and MORE. We see Mother Nature as something all around us, and both near and even something so far or remote we can't see it nor as of yet understand it (like the giant icebergs that split off the Arctic and Antarctica just this last week in a plant fit of global warming anger).

My opinion: I think the Pope and most Catholic clergy have good intentions and are a part of that 80%. But, they face, if opposing church policies, of being cast out. Still, the Catholic Church has this history of rebels taking a stand against harmful and inhumane church policies, and many of them now are part of the group of 350 or so official Catholic Saints, including St. Francis the original. They felt taking a stand for others was more important than conservative doctrine.
